井上明久先生がMaterial（材料）研究で世界ランキング1位

井上明久先生（元東北大学総長、Ｓ45年姫路工業大学金属材料工学科卒業、現在国内、海外の複数の大学で研究活動中）がこの度Stanford University編集（備考参照）のMaterials分野のWorld Rankingで2017年、2018年ともに世界1位にランクされました。これは井上明久先生の30年～40年の長年に亘る、文献引用度が高く世界的にインパクトの大きい研究成果が評価されたものです。また中国ではより広い分野（金属、セラミックス、高分子、化学工学、応用物理、数学物理などを含む）において中国本土、香港、台湾を含めた中国圏内で1位になられました。この井上明久先生の快挙は同じ大学の卒業生の一人として大変嬉しく思うと同時に、兵庫県立大学工学部出身の若手研究者や技術者の皆さんの励みになるものと思われますので、関係者の情報を集約し同窓会ブログにて紹介させて頂きます。

Abstract
Citation metrics are widely used and misused. We have created a publicly available database of 100,000 top scientists that provides standardized information on citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator. Separate data are shown for career-long and single-year impact. Metrics with and without self-citations and ratio of citations to citing papers are given. Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields. Field- and subfield-specific percentiles are also provided for all scientists who have published at least five papers. Career-long data are updated to end of 2017 and to end of 2018 for comparison.

論文引用の評価マトリックスに関して、著者らは、世界トップ科学者10万人に対して、公開可能であり論文評価の標準化に繋がるデータベースを創成した。それにはh指数（論文被引用件数の多い論文の数の多さが評価される）、hm指数（責任対応著者数を考慮した指標であり、少ない著者数が評価される）、異なるauthorship position論文による引用、そして複合指標（composite indicator）が含まれる。別のデータは長期（career-long）、短期（single-year）に亘るインパクトを表すために提示されている。また自己論文の引用（self-citations）を含む場合と含まない場合のそれぞれの評価マトリックスが示されている。科学者は22のscientific fields と176のsub-fieldsに分類され、その分類評価対象者は過去に5編以上の論文を発表している全ての科学者である。長期（career-long）のデータは、比較のため、2017年末までと2018年末までのものが供与されている。
